Infant / Toddler Lessons

Swimming LA Founder, Matt Harrigan, was recently selected by Kids In The House as a Learn-To-Swim (LTS) expert to be featured on their web site.  As Matt works to educate parents on the benefits of early age swimming, and help kids and adults conquer fear of water, Matt's parenting videos offer a valuable resource to all parents and adult non-swimmers.  If you or your child have not learned how to swim, CLICK HERE TO WATCH MATT'S KIDS IN THE HOUSE VIDEOS.
Why Start Swimming at an Early Age?
Among the obvious motivations for water safety and drowning prevention, a recent study out of Australia's Griffith University shows that kids who are swimming at an early age are actually achieving key learning milestones up to 15 months earlier than non-swimming children. These specific milestones include categories such as physical (motor skills), cognitive, socio-emotional and linguistic abilities.  We strongly encourage all of our parents to watch these videos and view the results of the Griffith study:

Little Guppy Lessons - Group with Parent - Ages 8 weeks to 36 months

25-minute classes, up to 6 babies (with adults) max per class

The child has an adult (parent or other) in the water with him/her at all times. This class includes an introduction to water safety and primary water skills including backfloats, submersions, rollover breathing and water play in a fun, group atmosphere.  All Guppy classes are perpetual and can be joined at any time in the billing cycle as the curriculum is routine and consistent for each class.  The classes are billed for 4 weeks in advance.  Anyone joining a class in the middle of a billing cycle will be prorated to coincide with the 4-week billing cycle for the rest of the class. We recommend 1-3 lessons per week for best results. Scheduling and enrolling for a session of 4-8 lessons in advance will ensure the routine and repetition your child needs to learn.

Infant/Toddlers are divided into three levels:

Little Guppy Splash
8 weeks through 5 months
$40.00 per 4-week cycle ($10 per class)

Little Guppy 1
